Tyn’s mission is to reduce the marginal cost of physical goods to zero.

The majority of consumer goods today are treated as a sunk cost or waste. Tyn turns physical assets into productive capital and, ultimately, feedstock for its own material refineries and production facilities. Throughout the company’s history, Tyn will reinvent commerce, consumer goods production, and waste disposal – in that order. We bring our customers cheaper prices, greater selection, and higher quality products.

It starts with Instant Sell, which lets consumers sell almost any item instantly. The mission is set in three stages, each with a singular driving focus:

Increase the Velocity of Physical Goods

Tyn’s core strategy is to enter the market through the sell experience, where consumers have immediate, unmet demand for liquidity. Since the 1960s, consumer spending has increased nearly 4x in real terms and physical assets now make up roughly 33% of household net worth. Existing products have failed to keep pace.

Despite cultural acceptance of second-hand goods, the market is fragmented, inefficient, and operating at a fraction of its scale potential. This is largely due to high seller activation energy and interface search costs. Selling a single item requires cross-listing, negotiation, optimization, and logistics – all in the hopes that a buyer eventually materializes.

Tyn collapses that activation energy to zero. Users connect their email, view an inventory of the items in their home, and receive real-time market offers. Our agent automates the coincidence of wants, handling order matching across venues. We offer consumers better prices, higher conversion rates, and remove all the work required of a seller. Tyn continuously tracks what consumers own and shows the real-time value of every purchase, making physical goods a visible part of your net worth for the first time.

Want a new item? ‘Tyn’ It

After Tyn (short for “thank you, next”) monopolizes Instant Sell, our product suite expands into progressively deeper layers of the commerce stack.

An entirely new set of consumer behavior emerges as a result of a higher velocity of goods. Trade-in credit becomes a new financing method. The consumer is prompted to sell while their items still hold value. With Tyn Credit, customers fund their next purchase from the residual value of their existing inventory. This is how we intend to compress the time between buy and sell orders; every trade-in is a supply acquisition that improves the pricing model and product experience.

The net cost of ownership drops when every item holds a measurable exit value, lowering the psychological barrier to purchasing. Once customers trust Tyn to handle their high-value items, we go after the long tail of goods: the rest of your purchases that have no resale value but still contain recoverable materials. Tyn is a skeuomorph of a ‘tin can.’ Whether replacing or discarding an item, Tyn is the destination consumers turn to first.

Own the Means of Production

The largest inefficiency of the modern supply chain is prematurely forcing materials into a consumable product. Global manufacturing is predicated on predictive analytics; most inventory is ordered months in advance, before the consumer has completed a purchase. Raw material is being transformed into a distinctive finished product against largely unknown demand curves. The result is the destruction of enterprise value in the form of markdowns, landfills, dead stock, and warehousing.

Billions have been spent on inventory SaaS, all of which exist to treat the symptoms. The architecture of modern global supply chains is designed to manage the consequences of this mistake rather than avoid making it. In Tyn’s third arc, we solve the problem head-on, by becoming a domestic, automated goods manufacturer.

Every good will be produced on demand, at location, and personalized to the customer. By turning product replacement and waste disposal into material recovery, we will have eliminated every layer of waste between production and the consumer. Tyn will dominate:

Instant sell

Make consumers money without requiring any work.

Trade-in

Turn every purchase into a revolving line of credit against your inventory.

Material recovery

Facilitate goods retrieval, including the long tail with no resale value.

Domestic production

Manufacture consumer goods on demand, at location, at zero marginal cost.
